Directory

There are more than 476 million Indigenous people, belonging to 5,000 different groups spread across 90 countries worldwide. Together, we speak some 4,000 languages in a continuous effort to revitalize our cultural life-ways and ancient social institutions. Called Tribal Peoples, First Peoples, Native Peoples, and Indigenous Peoples, we are diverse peoples with distinct cultures, languages and living traditions influenced by our relationship with the lands we come from.

Welcome to our Indigenous Peoples Directory.

Here, you can learn about and connect with the various Indigenous groups of the US & Canada thru TRIBAL TERRITORIES, NATIONS and CONFEDERACIES; Learn about the state of Indigenous People worldwide as presented by the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA) by navigating geographically; Or access our ever-growing listings of Indigenous Art & Cultural Organizations, Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Organizations and other resources that economically and culturally support Indigenous People in North America and across the globe.

Be sure to check back for new listings and categories being added periodically.
