The legacy of the huron-Wendats First Nation’s rich Aboriginal culture is expressed through its local products that focus on style and comfort.
Today, Bastien Industries exports its products internationally and is present in Canada, the United States, Belgium, France and Japan.
Located north of Quebec City in Wendake, Bastien Industries has been manufacturing and distributing its authentic products since 1972. Renowned for the excellence of its loafers and native handicrafts, the company was founded by Mr. Roland Bastien. Inspired by the expertise and passion for making snowshoes and loafers by Maurice Bastien, Grand Chef Huron-Wendat, Mr. Roland Bastien founded the company to produce items worthy of his heritage.
More than 40 years later, Bastien Industries proudly continues the mission of its founder: in the company’s workshops, its descendants still indulge with as much passion in the craft of their ancestors, making moccasins and handicrafts that today around the world. Indeed, the company’s popular loafer brand, Hiawatha, is available in several countries. It is therefore on an international scale that we now find these moccasins decorated with artistic needlework executed by wendake craftsmen.
Today, it is with passion and determination that Mr. Roland Bastien’s daughter, Ginette Bastien, continues to lead the family business to ever higher heights.
